There is Important news for those who may live in flood prone areas or are purchasing homes which may require flood insurance.
The National Flood Insurance Program's (NFIP) authority to Issue, renew or alter existing coverage will expire on midnight of February 28th,2010.
Experts believe that the suspension will be brief, however, this could create problems for some individuals with flood insurance policies. Regulatory authority must be granted by the Government in order for the existing flood program to continue. In addition, the renewal of such policies will be temporarily suspended awaiting the resumption of the act by Congress.
