The Liberals who infest the Media, along with the Democrats who appear to be sweating bullets here at election time, have managed to achieve some form of "weak hope" as a result of a perceived schism within the Republican and Conservative ranks. This as a result of the stunning results in the Delaware Primary of Christine O'Donnell over Mike Castle.
What the Democrats don't quite yet comprehend is the fact that Castle was far, far closer in his ideological leanings to the Democrats who occupy Washington rather than the Republicans on the opposite end of the spectrum. In fact, Castle is what we often now refer to as a "Republicrat" here at Conservative Refocus, which is an elite Republican who often votes with the Democrats, even eschewing Republicans if a personal advantage can be gained. Further, a Republicrat is one who believes in finding common ground, even when that ground has a consistency of the quick sand that we as a country now find ourselves marred in, rather than one who seeks solid, principled, Constitutional ground.
So, what does this mean to the Democrats? Simply this: Get ready for a rough ride over the next couple of months.
The rejection by Castle is nothing more or less than a rejection of a Democratic Ideology which has proven disastrous for the Country over the last number of years. The People have become engaged all over the Country and the Old Guard Republicrats simply are not getting the job done. This was the singular reason for the Tea Party's ascension, or did the Washington Establishment think that the Tea Party was just a typical political ploy which seems to prevail in the elitist ranks today.
Even the highly honored and conservatively revered Charles Krauthammer and Karl Rove, along with a host of others, appear to be confused at the new paradigm that has quickly become a national--if unpredictable--powerhouse of political popularity. Their response to O'Donnell's winning the primary in Delaware surprised many Constitutionally-inclined Americans. Rove--with his vituperative multiple attacks on O'Donnell; Krauthammer--with his Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore-gloom-and-doom prediction for the Republican Party as a result of her winning. And BOTH of these men are Conservatives whom I deeply admire.
So, what was their chief complaint against O'Donnell? That she is "unelectable"--among many other arguments which could ostensibly be ascribed to any of large number of successful Republican and Democratic politicians.
The answer from those Conservatives on our side?
Just look at who she defeated.
Castle believed in the Stimulus, Healthcare, Crist, and even Cap and Trade, and he was lauded and loved by Democrats everywhere. In fact--one of his first conversations after defeat was with President Obama, for Heaven's sake! His second call? VP Joe Biden.
Sounds like the folks from Delaware might have gotten it right, huh, Charles and Karl?
The times and the environment that we now face are not "business as usual," because that isn't working and hasn't worked for some time.
Why stick a Republican in the 51st Senate seat if s/he is going to vote with the Liberals half the time? Why not go for it all and get a Senator who will vote with Conservatives all of the time?
Besides, if O'Donnell is so unelectable, then how was it that she beat out your champion--HANDS DOWN?
The Changing of the Guard will see much more weeping and gnashing of teeth from the Old Guard before this is over.
Hang on tight.
