ThinkProgress was heating up the Twitter feed this morning with a short media release stating that Sam's Club, out of Bentonville, Arkanasas, has pulled its advertising from the Rush Limbaugh show.
Below is the ThinkProgress story:
Sam’s Club Stops Advertising On Rush Limbaugh’s Show | on social media that they have withdrawn their advertisements. Limbaugh’s sexist rant against Georgetown graduate student and women’s advocate Sandra Fluke prompted at least 40 advertisers to flee from Limbaugh’s program. The flow of advertisers abandoning Rush Limbaugh has slowed to a trickle, but yesterday Sam’s Club, the wholesale retail chain, announced
Many were puzzled at this belated response by the corporate giant and simply wondered if this were some sort of misinformation campaign being waged by the radical left. When Conservative Refocus contacted the corporate offices of Sam's Club, their spokesperson confirmed that Sam's Club had, indeed, suspended advertising in support of the Rush Limbaugh show as of today.
The spokesperson gave no explanation beyond the fact of the suspension. However, many were rather surprised at the massive corporation's response simply due to the fact that Rush Limbaugh has, in the past, been an ardent defender of Capitalism's Mecca in the Wal-Mart brand.
It should also be pointed out that Wal-Mart and its subsidiary, Sam's Club, has been a frequent target of the political Left's ire, due to Wal-Mart's being recognized as a cornerstone of America's so-called "Big Corp."
We were unable to receive an immediate response from the Rush Limbaugh show.
