A native of the Charlotte area, Barry Secrest is the owner of two successful Small businesses:  Carolina Industrial Agency and Peeler Insurance Agency.  He has more than 22 years of experience in the insurance industry.  Barry is also the Author of the book "A Perfect Liberal Storm" which was released in late July of 2010.

Barry began his Business career after serving as an Operations Specialist in the U.S. Navy aboard a Destroyer, the U.S.S. THORN.  He later attender College in Charlotte, NC while serving in the Naval Reserve and studied Electronics Engineering.

 Barry's passionate interest in politics began to take shape in 1982 while in the USN.   The United States was coming out of a deep recession, and Barry had seen first hand how horribly the Military had suffered under President Carter--along with the economy.

Then, he says, "Ronald Reagan came along and the USN was quickly brought back up to ultra-modern power.   The spirit of the country and the military drastically improved.  I was amazed that a single individual could have such a profound impact."

Having been a strong Constitutionalist and a proponent of the Republican form of Government his entire life, Barry became concerned in early 2009 of the changes rapidly occurring all around him that did not represent the Historical ideals of a formerly successful America.  The rapid degradation of everything both he, and many others,  held dear was slowly dissolving what the word "America" means to many all over the world.

Jolted out of complacency  in an effort to serve while  not leaving it up to others, Barry at the urging of both friends and clients, started the website "Conservative Refocus" and began writing in his own unique voice.  Conservative Refocus grew, in its readers, to become ranked within the top 1% of all websites on the worldwide web.
