A recent Gallup poll indicated, rather unbelievably, that voting Americans favored the Republican Party over the Democratic Party by an extremely thin margin of only 46% to 45%--this while the most recent Rasmussen poll indicated a spread of 44% Republican to 36% Democrat. You might then ask "so then why are you not happy, Mr. Conservative?" An interesting quandary. I should be--but the actual answer is quite simple--that being:
What in the hell does it take to get people's attention?
The Democratic Party of Yore is no more, Ladies and Gentlemen. What was a respectable, if not questionable tradition of often liberal policies has degraded into the Socialist Party of the United States. The gift that keeps on taking.
At this point within our anemic economy, pretty much anyone would have to admit this ain't working. The simple fact is that the reason minorities, businessmen, millionaires, teenagers, college grads, the middle-class, our seniors--pretty much any group other than Government--is taking it on the chin, in the gut and up the rear--is due simply to the self-absorbed, masochistic Obamacentric policies that the media and those in power still disingenuously chalk up to Bush.
So why should those poll numbers be skewed heavily to the Republicans? Easy--the Democratic Party has turned against the American People in favor of "The Messiah's" illegitimate agenda time after nauseating time over the past 18 months. The party trying to counter the Democrats every anti-constitutional move has been the Republican Party--and yet some would still prefer a Democrat? Perhaps the certain-gifted imbeciles within our populace deserve what they are getting and more if indeed they find a political ideology more important than say tranquility, happiness, freedom and other time-worn old-fashioned ideas--not to mention the providence of their offspring.
So...What Was Great About It?
One should still, however, point out that those who would blindly vote for a particular party simply because "it's what Mom and Dad used to do" need to educate themselves regarding how their party has voted over the last 18 months. Most Democrats in the South whom I speak with are clearly, if not derangefully, against their old party affiliations. This is why we should view anything coming from the media as it regards Democratic surges in popularity with an extremely jaundiced eye.

Providing us with an "emphatic" exclamation point that most ignore and as predicted many times before, the US stock market continues its overall slide as leading economic indicators point to continued trouble in various sectors. The damaging legislative actions of the "Socialist/Democrats" have taken a heavy and needless toll and turned what should have been a recession into a volatile "semi-depression."
This fact can be illustrated by the recent news article indicating that the US M3 or money supply has suffered a drop so stark over the past three months that the only historically comparable occasion, in terms of percentages, was the sequence of events leading up to "The Great Depression."
You Will Be One with Umm...The Obama-Borg
In the meantime we have various members of the media and otherwise trying to get a grip on why things are going wrong all over the place. They offer up all sorts of "sometimes" interesting, "often" boring, "frequently" septic ideas aimed at Conservatives and the otherwise detracted members of society who are past angry. As if this is "our fault" and we are just making it worst by not becoming one with the "Obama-Borg."

Well, we have reason to be angry at the failure up-heaving all around us much like an earthquake that never seems to cease. One Black columnist, Jason Whitlock, laments that a popular radio host--being the "Nation of Idiots" leader (makes me think "White House")--has racial undertones planted throughout his broadcasts. He goes on to lambaste several other right-wing icons, including Sarah Palin--calling her "Gal Sharpton."
I would point out to Mr. Whitlock that he has fallen into the trap of making it an issue about race when, once again, it has nothing to do with race. While Whitlock's piece tries to be fair--disparaging both Black and White icons--he refuses to point the finger at the "real problem" chalking it all up to "trading places." By the way, do you like Cherry-Flavored, Jason?
Stupid Is as Stupid Does...
But thats what we are here for--so to all of the various political and ideological groups who think we should all just "go along," here is why we do not.
The following are just a few of the "questionable items" presented to us by the President and his Democratic Minions over the last few days:
1) Obama's Katrina has halted its oil seepage into the Gulf. Oh wait! No, they just said they had halted it--for artistic effect in the press conference no doubt. They have actually limited the seepage while The Prez continually and yet rather lamely insists "we were in charge from day one." When, in actuality, BP has been in charge from day one--thank goodness. Even blundering BP has a better track record than this Administration. We also appreciated "Hope we can believe in"--at least for a time.
2) Extremely sensitive military counter-terrorism plans were leaked by officials and printed in the New York Times which will allow certain countries to "get ready" for US Special Clandestine Operatives--Spook Ops become even spookier.
3) The Administration's Department of Justice came out with a plan of attack, to include lawsuit, against Arizona's immigration law on the unbelievable basis of--yep, you guessed it--"unconstitutionality." Duly noted: At least they read it. If only Iran were Arizona...

4) Speaking of Arizona--former Governor of Arizona, Janet Napolitano, after repeatedly demanding help from the Federal Government while Governor, now insists that Arizona follow Federal guidelines in a strident display of Homeland Security Chief "hypocrisy."
5) Certain members of the Administration may be facing "suicide by politics" in their efforts to coerce Senate Candidate James Sestak out of the race with Arlen Spectre by bartering Sestak a "cozy" high-level Federal post which is a clear and even impeachable violation. Slick Willie was the apparent point man on this; however, even the media is up in arms over these latest highjinx--which begs the question--where have they been? And why are they surprised?
6) Deputy National Security Advisor, John Brennan, recently told a group that Islamic Jihadism was a valid tenet of Islam and that Islam, paraphrasing, has nothing to do with terrorism. OK, kind of like Congress has nothing to do with the making of law and ovens have nothing to do with the baking of bread.
The Anti-Constitutional Continuum
Anyone paying attention yet?
Rather than looking at a few days of Governmental excess, why not review the high points of the prior year as we delve into "The Obama-Borg Continuum."

In August of 2009, the United Nations came out with a report that ranked US Healthcare 35th in the world. The media predictably ate this story up. However, we conducted our own study and what we found was that of the top five most populous countries, the United States was far and away number one in quality of healthcare. The Obama Administration, along with the press and the Democrats frequently referred back to the UN report during their efforts to pass healthcare. But even before that, we had the pitiful Trillion Dollar Stimulus Bill that actually amounted to a total waste of resources which did nothing for the economy.
In September, the President's community group known as ACORN, which launched Obama's Presidency, was caught dispensing all manner of dubious taxation and otherwise advice to two actors posing as a pimp and a prostitute. The ensuing result caused ACORN to be dismantled while Congress halted all funding. The President, as with all outed dangerous liasons, threw ACORN under the bus and stated he did not keep track of the group.
Also in September, we had the advent of Obama's "Diversity Czar." This is a post that was created in order to hush-up any member of the media with a viewpoint which differs from the Administration. The post was not well received and has been relegated to the back of the bus--at least for awhile. But the point here is that freedom of speech and freedom of the press were being assaulted by a sitting president in the interest of quelling debate and dissent.

Don't Worry..It's just Temporary
Over the course of the past 18 months, the President has taken over by varying degrees Banking, Student Loans, Healthcare and Home Mortgages while meddling in many other industries--all the while continually maintaining a lack of "true" interest in any of these industries. After mandating a need to open up exploration for American Oil independence, the President did a smooth and total course reversal (knee-jerk reaction) as a result of a rare accident in the Gulf, decreeing that there would be a moratorium on new wells until "further notice" and touting the replacement wonders of "green energy" that do not yet exist on a practical basis.
In October, the President, in a snotty temper tantrum, went on a full attack against Fox News by trying to limit their access to his office. His reason: "They are not a real news organization." Which would just go to show that, historically speaking, Fox News was, in actuality, the only news organization properly doing its job as a member of the Fourth Estate. This move by Obama was historically unprecedented and decidedly "authoritarian" and is also most likely the origin for the President's often being painted with a "Hitler mustache" in the future.
Then, when the Fort Hood gunman went on his terrible rampage in November, the Administration pointedly refused to initially consider the fact that this was another case of "extreme Islamic terrorism" inside our own military. Over time and with a body of overpowering evidence, the Administration had no choice but to glaringly see its own brand of damaging political correctness--if not denial as to the terrorist problem--even within our own military.

When Governance Goes Against Principle
In December we were hit with a new healthcare bill which died for a time but was then "re-animated" as a result of a "rate increase" from a health insurance carrier in California. After many contentious debates and an extreme backlash from voters, Congress eventually passed the healthcare bill and set off a new battle of States versus the Federal Government in speaking to "States Rights"--a $1.2 Trillion price tag (that we cannot afford) not withstanding.
And we should never forget the 2010 Congressional Spending Bill which Congress refuses to pass due to the backlash against the few remaining Socialist/Democrats who still have a fighting chance. This is why Congress must continually reauthorize certain spending items every few months; case-in-point, the national Flood Insurance Program which is currently looking at a lapse.
Also recently, the Federal Government has taken the side of illegal immigrants and Mexico against the beleaguered Citizens of Arizona. The reason? Racial profiling becomes the standard "government issued" answer; however, the true reason would most likely be "new voter block" as the Democrats struggle to find all of the votes they have lost over the course of the past 18 months.
These are but a few of the reasons why we Conservatives and otherwise concerned Americans are past angry at a Government policy of intervention into virtually every area even while failing miserably even prior to its multi-level takeover. The incremental mentality of Statism is alive and well within this particular Administration and, much like a damaging pestilence, will be difficult to mitigate once firmly rooted.
So no, we will not become one with the "Obama-Borg", thank you very much. But to all of those non-joiners, please remember one important thing: Don't look into his eyes while he speaks.
