Conservative Refocus
The favor recently bestowed upon the Conservative movement by the Democratic Party was nothing less than a Thanksgiving cornucopia of anti-Statist delights. While a large sector of the American Citizenry were outraged that Pelosi and Reid were somehow re-elected, Americans were even more amazed when they were then re-installed as the titular heads of the Democratic Party.
To many outraged Americans and dedicated members of the Right, this was seen as nothing less than a sordid repeat of an abnormally grisly Halloween. But, in truth, the clueless denizens of the Democratic Party made what will ultimately be known as a fatal if not historic mistake--and before you start throwing unsecured items at your computer screen, we can explain the full range of why this leadership continuation is unarguably the greatest thing since donut holes.
The reasons are quite simple when boiled down and refined into a tincture. One must remember and observe:
During the past two years--which saw Americans repelled in abject horror at the authoritarian shtick coming out of Washington--which three absolutist leaders were always there to both explain and "reassure" the American people that this won't hurt a bit, after repeatedly passing eye-popping, anti-Constitutional legislation?
Yes, indeed, it was the Obama, Reid, Pelosi (O-Team) triumvirate of imperious terror.
Even better, who is yet still in charge of this severely weakened Trinity of Democratic Doom? Ta-Da! Obama, Reid and Pelosi, again. In fact, the Civil Society has, in many ways, become preconditioned to brace for whatever liberty eviscerating measures this Unholy Trinity plans to unleash upon them--whenever they of the now Cluelessly Inept Elitists graciously choose to toddle out onto the political stage of pithy and bless us common folk with their erudite proclamations.

The O-Team: Where Overkill Is Underrated
Even better than that, one must also remember that this team of leadership has presided over what is arguably one of the worst congressional/authoritarian diktats to ever come out of US legislative history in the already failed Obamacare Law. They of the O-Team were also the authors of a budget busting Stimulus which, from start to finish, has scarcely even dented US jobless numbers to the promised 8%, hanging doggedly near 10%, even while dramatically increasing our deficits. Never mind that when our economy lay severely wounded and bleeding, it was also the O-Team which cluelessly, if not comically, focused on implementing Socialist strictures of governance that have, in fact, hindered improvement rather than employing measures to actually aid the economy.
Remember the opportunistic quote from Emanuel: Never let a good crisis go to waste? So much has the 111th Congress and 44th President over-reached and underachieved that the words failure and success have now become hopelessly confused as it regards our current American standing. Success at anti-Constitutionally restructuring America, or failure at improving, it has actually become a point of argument, as if the one thing does not lend to the other.
What all of this, however, finally means, then, is that whenever in the upcoming now Republican-controlled legislative sessions, a measure is put forth where the President might require Legislative backing, or whenever the Democrats set forth to make their case to the American people, the lead communicators of such plans will, once again, be the O-Team--those of whom a preponderance of the American people can barely stand to gaze at for any length of time, much less listen to.
So there you have it, barring a Republican transmorph into the dreaded Rinocratic Party, the Democrats have sealed both their and most likely the President's fate in 2012 in an impending ignominious departure from office. Doubtful of this prediction? Read our book from last year, A Perfect Liberal Storm, where virtually everything we predicted has come about.
A Civil Insurrection
This actual harbinger of ultimate good in the renewal of the O-Team, while immediately seeming bad--but later meaningfully positive, in fact, leads us to ponder a great many things as we, the now battle-weary league of American Citizens, staggeringly move forward into the Holiday Seasons.
As a result of all of this, a more politically-hopeful America now readies for its time of Thanksgiving, even while staring down the double-barrel of economic hazard, as being set within a contrast of light not seen in a long, long time. This Holiday Season will, by all indications be, far more meaningful than any Thanksgiving in recent history. The fact that the world as we know it has seemed to be dangling on a precipice for far too long should not be lost on the balance of us.
It was the Autumn of 1863 when President Lincoln established Thanksgiving as a National Day of Thanks. Lincoln's words, on this occasion, were meant to offer up some bit of salve for a Nation in need when he noted the intent of the new Holiday--being to offer up "Thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens." This, despite the country suffering through the ravages of a Civil War of such ferocious magnitude and extreme carnage that even modern-day citizens all over the world would still speak of it and study it over 150 years later.
When Lincoln designated the day as a holiday, he also requested of all Americans to ask God "to commend to His tender care all of those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable strife" in addition to "healing the wounds of a Nation." In many ways today, we can now be seen to be staged in a similar battle of no less import. The ideologues of the Left are even now caught up in an insurrective powerplay against the American people themselves, a Civil War of the self-governing majority versus the delusive government by authority sects, and the people just won their Bull Run in the November 2010 election.
When History Repeats Itself: The Tea Party
It is under these terms that we are mindful of the onslaught and the battle that many of we Americans have reluctantly faced since that fateful day in November of 2008. At the time, many of us were still grappling with thoughts of another 1930's type of depression and were cautiously relieved that, so far, things appeared to be normalizing. But then the uneasiness began to creep into the business and Conservative fold in late January, when we began hearing of the odd positions created in our Government.
These positions would hearken back to former President Bush's practice of appointing Czars to a few positions that, he felt, required expansive attention by Officials. But in this latest case, there seemed to be an intent of employing pervasive officiousness which seemed alien to all but the least attentive.
It wouldn't be long before many would understand that America's newest Leaders would prove to have a vision so stark in contrast to Leaders of the past, that a new movement would be borne.
This movement was birthed as a need to counter the extremism that many Americans were beginning to now see in their Government. In the past, talk of politics and power between normal Americans would be spotty and brief and would dovetail nicely with the goings-on of other worldly events.
But beginning in early 2009, the disturbed talk of governance between normally apolitical individuals, and how it seemed to be seeping in to all sectors of American life often inspiring fear, became typical.
List: Of Thankfulness and Those Things Rejected
This insidious invasion was a New America concept, based upon the vision of one small group of Elitists who appear to be wired quite oddly in comparison to most Americans. But the danger has, in effect, now been recognized. The nemesis is now known and we now have some understanding of how to fight it and defeat it.
The battle has not been nor will not be easy, but the traditional concept of America as the land of the free and the rule of law and liberty, and not of men, will indeed hold fast.
And this, as a result, leads me to point out in a manner of Thanksgiving to God and those of my fellows and Friends, the things that I am thankful for--and a few that I am not-- in celebration of the Season and of the slew of things el politico that have been brought up in the most recent of times.
The People's Media
It was not long after Obama's inaugural speech in 2009 that the President's gaze turreted over to talk radio and its Conservative Leader, Rush Limbaugh. The President began talk of, once again, limiting free speech on the airwaves by way of all sorts of draconian edicts. His main target was Rush Limbaugh, who stood in great defiance to authority-usurped while many in the media simply stood and gaped. Rather than cow down and soften his rhetoric, the fearless Limbaugh went straight after the President like a mad bull, so much so, that many joined in--including this one. No more allowing just a few men such as Rush to be standing alone against the Authoritarians.

Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin and a strong number of others both well-known and not, were also strongly and fearlessly in the mix leveling criticism, after criticism of the odd goings-on of the President and his Government while educating the people. These are people that we should all thank God for every day--a tide well turned.
The Mainstream Media
While filling us all in on the niggling bit of details in the day-in through day-out world, the Mainstream Media performs its function of informing us quite well. But what they often fail to do is to identify the underlying scope in which they couch their stories. While the People's Media will inform you right away which side they are on, along with exactly what they are about, the Left-Leaning Media leaves it up to each individual to understand which side of the political spectrum they lie upon and will swear up and down their neutrality even while smashing at any of the Right. For instance, at the top of this website, anyone can plainly see--emblazoned boldly on every page--what ideological bent this site portrays. Yet where are the labels in the Mainstream Media?
Does the Huffington Post include the words "Progressive or Liberal" within their name--such as the Huffington Progressive Post? Ever see a succinct label such as The New York Socialist Times or The Charlotte Democratic Observer. Does National Public Radio or MSNBC come out and tell us how ideological in nature they actually are, or better, how much money they have received from Darth Soros, and why? This particular bit of fact is a thing that I reject and am not at all thankful for.
Freedom Of Speech
So long as the populace is able to speak out and do so freely, any Government overuse of authority will lay overwhelmingly bedeviled and beaten down innately over time. This is something that I am acutely thankful for.
Authoritarian Politicians
When Politicians of a singular nature at Authoritarianism abound, they seem to unerringly do so in favor of the Left and in distress to the Right. Who can forget West Virginia Senator Jay Rockefeller recently and rather cluelessly denigrating Free Speech as "hungering" to have the FCC shut down both Fox News and MSNBC of both the Right and the Left. Little does the well-heeled and yet obtusely witless Senator realize that his position as going against those who espouse a differing political viewpoint, as being a viewpoint of the extreme Left and therefore branding him a radical Authoritarian.
The light of unbridled ignorance yet shines brightly for the all-knowing and all-seeing Senator from West Virginia. In fact, the FCC has no authority over cable as it is NOT of the airwaves. The Senator seems well-seated amongst the remaining Democrats in power, who each seem more members of a Politburo than a Party. This is something for which I am not at all thankful and reject.
The Tea Party
CNBC's Rick Santelli began a movement in much the same way as the original Boston Tea Party must have begun. In a short-tempered rant heard round the world, Santelli, on the Chicago trade floor in February of 2009, forcefully suggested that the Chicago traders should all just dump their derivatives into Lake Michigan in protest of a Government which was promoting bad behavior. That day Tea Parties began springing up all over America and would soon be viraling out into other Nations.

The Tea Party was born, and while being consistently maligned by the Leftists in Government and within the Media, the Nation continually saw group after group spring up. Soon they would march on Washington to the tune of millions and spark a revolution of Free Capitalist Independence and Constitutional adherence that would springboard the now humbled Conservatives back into power in Government. God-fearing and reverent of the Nation's beginnings, The Tea Party is something for which I am profoundly thankful.
Rinos
While everyone has a right to their own political viewpoints, the Rino's, it could be said, are those of the unprincipled and unwitting. They, in essence, are a large part of the reason for the state of America as it stands in this day. Had the Republicans In Name Only stuck to their guns and fought against the Democrat's wavering efforts at fiscal sanity, the Nation would probably be in a much better state today.
But when the balance in politics is lost, then everything goes to hell and the Rino Republicans failed to perform their balancing function in favor of catering to the Elites. Since no illustrative definition of Rino exists, I will reproduce it here from our Rino list so that you may recognize this daunting beastie of a politician in the near and present future:
A Rino is a hybrid elected political creature which exhibits features often synonymous with both the dreaded Liberal and the neo-Conservative. They can be evidenced, in large part, by an uncanny ability to reach across the isle creating havoc and often ruining a principled stand by their Party's leadership. Rinos, rarely being grounded by any sort of Conservative principles, can easily be blown off of a pending course by the prevailing breeze of the day
Rino's are a thing that I am cautiously unthankful for, while hesitating to reject, a persons belief is what it is-- no matter the seeming wrongfulness therein. Caucus more with your ideological kin Rinos--consider perhaps becoming Dinos?
Remembering What Has Past
So there you have it. In our America of today and in thoughtful musings of what we have to be thankful for on the one hand and what we have to be cautious of on the other, are the things in play that I will continue to ponder over Thanksgiving. Oh, almost forgot, here is a quote from the darkest days of our discontent that was written over 14 months ago :
"This country has navigated far more difficulties too numerous to mention than this concentrated but ill-constructed attack by those whom feel certain that their oft-tried but ill-conceived way is the best way for all. There are simply no people on this earth who are more relentless, nor more courageous than the individuals whom believe in the ideals that God created Man with certain inalienable rights--that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
We will peacefully persevere in regaining our governance in the way it was originally intended; however, now is the time for each of us that has true understanding of our Nation to begin if they have not done so already. Thomas Jefferson once wrote" For the sentiments of men are known not only by what they receive but by what they reject also."~A Perfect Liberal Storm, the original column 9/24/09
Finally, thank you to all of our Conservative and otherwise Friends, Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors who visit this site and thousands of others, who gather at Tea Parties, and make your thoughts and feelings known all over the social networks and beyond. You have proven me and many others right while yet noting our battle continues in earnest, but also in grace. Of all the things I am thankful for, it is my Family, Friends and You most of all which comprise my Country. Wishing A Thanksgiving To remember To All.
