Conservative Refocus

Say it ain’t so George!
Bush recently took a rather strange position on immigration which most people who despise him hold passionately. He essentially called out those who take a decidedly negative view of illegal immigration as being purveyors of "protectionism, nativism and other ism’s.”
Laura Ingraham fired back indicating that perhaps Bush is suffering from “Elitism.” Laura is right. Granted, Bush seems to have adopted an “I could care Less” approach after his exit from the public eye.
But what Bush seems to forget is that most Conservatives are continually defending certain of his decisions which are sometimes precarious to defend at best. Maybe Bush is moderating in his waning years even more than he did in his last four years in office. But what Bush needs to understand is that, granted, he served his Country well honorably for the two terms that he was President. But history is written by those who find meaningful success, and he is certainly not helping with his latest ill-considered remarks.
For the last several years the relevant Conservative victories have been authored without even a tittle of his help. Bush has always stated, even after brutal Conservative battles with those who would consider him as an arch enemy, that it’s not a former President’s place to weigh in and criticize his successor and or their political stances.
We never knew, however, that criticism of passionate supporters is fair game for the ex-President. But with all of the bizarre logic, not to mention events, occurring virtually anywhere one can throw a stick, we are not entirely surprised that Bush has momentarily succumbed.
Perhaps just a bout of Bad Strategery...
